Education Qualification and Eligibility
Educational Qualification for India Post GDS Recruitment:
Secondary School Examination (10th Standard):
Applicants must possess a pass certificate of the Secondary School Examination (10th standard) from any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/Union Territories in India. The candidate should have passed Mathematics and English as compulsory or elective subjects.
Local Language Proficiency:
Candidates should have studied the local language up to at least the Secondary standard as either a compulsory or elective subject.
Other Qualifications:
Knowledge of Computer:
Applicants should have basic knowledge of computers, which may include handling computer systems, operating software, and using common applications.
Knowledge of Cycling:
Candidates must possess the ability to ride a bicycle, as it may be necessary for certain duties.
Adequate Means of Livelihood:
Candidates should have a sustainable source of income or means of livelihood.
These educational and other qualifications are mandatory for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in the Department of Posts. Eligible candidates who meet these requirements can apply online for GDS engagement during the specified application period.
